DESCRIPTION:ARC Dance Company celebrates 20 years of dance with a special two-day festival at the Bagley Wright Theatre\, ARC at 20: A Twentieth Anniversary Retrospective Performance\nFrom humble beginnings in 1999\, to its stellar growth as a home for accomplished choreographers and dancers alike\, ARC Dance Company is delighted to celebrate its twentieth year serving the Northwest Dance community with an exceptional two-day retrospective festival of the best and boldest works ARC has produced over its twenty year history. \nSaturday\, August 10 at 8pm and Sunday\, August 11 at 5pm\, presented in different programs each evening\, ARC at 20 will feature a mix of ARC Dance Company’s repertoire\, including some pieces ARC debuted as well as other visionary works the Company has championed. These performances will be on the large stage at the Bagley Wright Theater (within the Seattle Repertory Theatre complex). \nWen Wei Wang\, Edwaard Liang\, Jason Ohlberg\, Bruce McCormick\, Elizabeth “Betsy” Cooper\, Alex Ketley\, Mark Kane\, Marika Brussel\, Marie Chong\, Gerard Théorêt\, Kirk Midtskog\, Ilana Goldman\, David Fernandez\, and Wade Madsen\, will be among the choreographers featured as part of the festival with a special In Memoriam celebrating the late Northwest dance pioneer Kabby Mitchell III. \nPrograms will also feature a pre-show conversation hosted by Artistic Director Marie Chong\, with members of the ARC Dance Company\, reflecting upon the accomplishments of ARC Dance Company’s twenty-year history. Audiences are highly encouraged to arrive early for this pre-show event and enliven the proceedings with thoughtful questions and comments for ARC Dance Company members. \n“It’s been an amazing twenty years. DESCRIPTION:Winnie’s Woods\nSchool Showcase Performance\nSaturday\, June 1 at 1pm and 5pm\nOn June 1 Arc School of Ballet (ASB) showcases more than 125 of its students in its year-end performance of Winnie’s Woods. The dancers range in age from three years old to pre-professional young adults\, with special guest appearances by the professional dancers of ARC Dance Company. Audiences of all ages will enjoy this two-act performance at the Shorewood Performing Arts Center (Shorewood High School). \nThe biennial\, year-end showcase offers all students of Arc School of Ballet another performance experience in addition to the annual Nutcracker Sweets. Artistic Director and Choreographer Marie Chong\,  carefully crafts the roles of each dancer within the story. The students receive an education in the creation of a ballet: rehearsal focus and etiquette\, time management\, familiarity with different job roles such as costumers and ballet masters\, and the sheer time involved to bring a production to performance. ASB students relish the opportunity to be part of the creation of an original story ballet and the performances inspire their dance training and heighten their appreciation for dance as an art form. Please join us as we celebrate our fifteenth year of turning out dancers. \nTickets go on sale April 1 at 10am. All reserved seating.

SUMMARY:Spring Repertory Festival
DESCRIPTION:ARC Dance Productions presents Spring Repertory Festival. \nArc Youth Dance Company (AYDC)\, and Kaleidoscope Dance Company come together to present the biennial Spring Repertory Festival in two performances on March 23 and March 24\, 2019\, at 4pm. \nCombining their efforts\, AYDC\, Kaleidoscope\, and Open Performing Group present a family-friendly show which features youth-to-adult students in a mixed bill of choreography from classical to modern dances. Marie Chong\, Director of ARC Dance\, has collaborated with Anna Mansbridge\, Artistic Director of Kaleidoscope\, since 2010 on various projects. The festival is a new collaboration between the two artists with plans to produce similar festivals on a biennial basis. \nPlease note: IF tickets are available for purchase at the door\, CASH ONLY.

DESCRIPTION:Join our Parents’ Guild (PG)! \nThe PG is working hard this year to build a larger volunteer base – parents or community members who can help with events such as Spring Repertory and the Biennial School Showcase. Many hands make for light work\, and we have full recognition that we are all busy.\nA commitment for a few hours during these key performance runs is greatly appreciated. The more volunteers we are able to engage\, the more successful our collective experience will be.
