DESCRIPTION:Demonstration (Demos) performance is on Saturday\, June 9 this year. Demos are a true favorite to our friends and families. ASB presents Demos during our non-showcase performance years. This informal performance of the syllabus progression of the school offers a sneak peak into the technique and training methods emphasized and used here at ASB. \nRehearsals for Demos are done during regular class time. Class uniforms are used for this performance and there is no additional cost to participate. DESCRIPTION:Seattle Foundation’s GIVEBIG Returns on May 9!\nWednesday\, May 9 is GIVEBIG\, a one-day online giving campaign to raise funds for local nonprofits and ARC! \nPlease GIVEBIG to the SMALL!\nEarly giving begins on Thursday\, April 26\nYou may schedule an online donation to ARC starting on April 26. On May 9 once your donation has been processed\,  you will receive your tax-deductible receipt. \nDollars for Change\nDollars for Change is a donor-driven effort that will award more than $250\,000 to participating King County nonprofits. While Dollars for Change will benefit nonprofits of all sizes\, in order to bring greater equity in the distribution of additional dollars\, an emphasis will be placed on SMALL-and mid-sized organizations. \nThe way Dollars for Change will work is that a report will be generated by Seattle Foundation’s technology partner\, based on the criteria applied: the donor supported a non-profit based in King County\, the Healthy Community Framework elements ( basic needs\, economic opportunity\, health and wellness\, education\, environment\, ARTS and CULTURE\, vibrant communities and global giving)\, and the organization’s budget size. For example\, the database can export a donor that supported an organization in the arts and culture element that has a budget size under $250\,000 and is based in King County. \nDonations made up to that point that meet the criteria\, including gifts made during the pre-giving period of April 26 – May 8\, will be eligible to be selected. SUMMARY:ARC Youth Dance Company Auditions
DESCRIPTION:ARC Youth Dance Company (AYDC) is open to dedicated students ages 11- 19 years old currently training in the School\, as selected by the Artistic Director by audition. The Student Youth Company offers broad-based performance opportunities and accelerated dance training in preparation for collegiate dance education or a career in a professional adult company. \nThe Student Youth Company is made up of two groups\, Senior and Apprentice ensembles—according to a combination of age and ability. Both ensembles rehearse and perform new works by guest choreographers. AYDC members perform in more than 6 performances a season January through August. \nParticipation in AYDC is supplemental to other program requirements and requires full commitment from its members and their families. DESCRIPTION:This holiday season ARC Dance brings Nutcracker Sweets back to the Shorewood Performing Arts Center for two performances on December 16\, 2017.  \nThis much-loved holiday ballet includes the talented students of ARC School of Ballet and the professional dancers of ARC Dance Company. \nA favorite tradition for families across Seattle\, all Nutcracker Sweets performances at the ARC Dance Space in Ballard have sold out for the past 12 years. We are excited to bring our Fastest Nutcracker in the West\, to Shoreline. It has been a joy to see the production grow and become a tradition for audience members in the north end\, said Artistic Director and Choreographer Marie Chong. \nDesigned with young audiences in mind\, the show has roughly an hour-long running time that features beautiful music\, gorgeous costumes\, and exciting dancing.
