DESCRIPTION:Seattle Foundation’s GIVEBIG Returns on May 9!\nWednesday\, May 9 is GIVEBIG\, a one-day online giving campaign to raise funds for local nonprofits and ARC! \nPlease GIVEBIG to the SMALL!\nEarly giving begins on Thursday\, April 26\nYou may schedule an online donation to ARC starting on April 26. On May 9 once your donation has been processed\,  you will receive your tax-deductible receipt. \nDollars for Change\nDollars for Change is a donor-driven effort that will award more than $250\,000 to participating King County nonprofits. While Dollars for Change will benefit nonprofits of all sizes\, in order to bring greater equity in the distribution of additional dollars\, an emphasis will be placed on SMALL-and mid-sized organizations. \nThe way Dollars for Change will work is that a report will be generated by Seattle Foundation’s technology partner\, based on the criteria applied: the donor supported a non-profit based in King County\, the Healthy Community Framework elements ( basic needs\, economic opportunity\, health and wellness\, education\, environment\, ARTS and CULTURE\, vibrant communities and global giving)\, and the organization’s budget size. For example\, the database can export a donor that supported an organization in the arts and culture element that has a budget size under $250\,000 and is based in King County. \nDonations made up to that point that meet the criteria\, including gifts made during the pre-giving period of April 26 – May 8\, will be eligible to be selected. If ARC is selected to receive an award\, Seattle Foundation staff will email us and the donor that contributed to our organization. \nDollars for Change is an amazing opportunity for ARC to receive additional funds that contribute to the important work that we do.  In short\, the more people that donate\, the better chances for ARC to receive Dollars for Change. \nThank you GIVING BIG to the SMALL and for keeping us on our toes!

SUMMARY:ARC Youth Dance Company Auditions
DESCRIPTION:ARC Youth Dance Company (AYDC) is open to dedicated students ages 11- 19 years old currently training in the School\, as selected by the Artistic Director by audition. The Student Youth Company offers broad-based performance opportunities and accelerated dance training in preparation for collegiate dance education or a career in a professional adult company. \nThe Student Youth Company is made up of two groups\, Senior and Apprentice ensembles—according to a combination of age and ability. Both ensembles rehearse and perform new works by guest choreographers. AYDC members perform in more than 6 performances a season January through August. \nParticipation in AYDC is supplemental to other program requirements and requires full commitment from its members and their families. Student Youth members must dedicate 6-8 hours per week to rehearsals in addition to 2-4 hours per month to performances. \nMore AYDC info: HERE

DESCRIPTION:…a dance feast of whimsy\, fantasy\, and some autumnal introspection\nARC Dance Company is pleased to offer Autumn 47\, a mixed repertoire performance featuring two world premiere pieces by New York-based choreographer David Fernandez (Boitsov Classical Ballet\, Lyric Opera\, Ballet Theatre Chicago) and Alex Ketley (The Foundry\, San Francisco Ballet)\, along with local critics’ favorites by choreographers Gérard Théorêt (Royal Winnipeg Ballet\, Cirque du Soleil) and Wade Madsen (Cornish College of the Arts). \nPlease join us in the intimate setting of the ARC Dance Performance Space for a harvest of contemporary and classical dance created by our talented choreographers and stunning professional ARC Dance Company dancers. \nSeating is limited and early ticket orders are discounted\, so purchase your tickets early. \n

DESCRIPTION:Nutcracker Sweets Auditions \nSaturday\, October 7 \nALL students must be currently registered in the School and are required to attend the audition to be considered for a role in Nutcracker Sweets. \nCasting may be determined by a combination of the following criteria: summer dance attendance\, technical ability\, emotional maturity\, size\, costume availability\, performance proficiency\, overall skill and dedication\, as well as an on going demonstration of willingness to work towards personal goals in dance at ARC. \nTime Class Level  \n2:00-2:20pm Creative Movement \n2:20-2:40pm Pre- Ballet  \n2:40-3:20pm Elementary 1 & 2 \n3:20-3:40pm Elementary 3 \n3:40-4:00pm Elementary 4 \n4:00-4:30pm Intermediate 1 \n4:30-4:50pm Intermediate 2 \n4:50-5:15pm Intermediate 3 & 4 \nCasting will be posted on the board the week of October 9.
